Human Factors

Introduction

Introduction of Human Factors concepts in the aerospace industry has been a major step forward to
contribute to the improvement of safety in aviation. It enables people to have a better
understanding of their own performance and be able to actively contribute to avoiding errors and

Methods and evaluation tools

This ePITsolutions eLearning module is composed of an eTutorial and an ePractice.

The eTutorial is decomposed in 3 parts to enable easier access:

  • Part 1 deals with general introduction, statistics, safety culture and human error,
  • Part 2 deals with Human Performance and all its components,
  • Part 3 deals with all the other chapters, from environment to the HF program in the
    company.

All the topics that are listed in the GM 1 145 A 30 (e) are dealt with, in one of these parts.
Examples have also been included all along the chapters to show how these topics link with safety
issues that happened. Examples are taken from the US NTSB and the French BEA data bases.

The ePractice is composed of 10 quiz. It aims at making sure the concepts have been understood and
memorised. The results of the quiz are recorded.
A reporting form is also included that enables the trainee to report his feed back to his organisation
as planned in the regulation and / or report to us as necessary. This form should be printed before
starting the training so that notes can be taken all along.

The certificate that may be issued after the training will show the time spent on each part and the
result obtained on the quiz. The trainee can issue his certificate. At his request or at his company
request, we may also issue it and send an electronic copy. Please note that we keep the trainee
enrolled for a maximum duration of 1 month as a commitment to RGDP. Therefore, the training
report will not be accessible after this one month period – except if requested in writing differently.
