Regulation EASA Part 145

Introduction

EASA Part145 is the short cut used by the aviation industry to refer to the regulation that must be
complied with by every organisation that is performing maintenance on aircraft registered in the
European Union. The precise scope of application of EASA Part 145 is detailed in the Commission
Regulation (EU) Number 1321/2014.

The regulation is accompanied by Acceptable Means of Compliance which are not as such deemed to
be mandatory, but any alternative mean must be justified as giving a guarantee of safety equivalent
to the one obtained when complying with the AMC. EASA Part 145 is also accompanied by Guidance
Material that give explanations on how to understand the Regulation.
As a maintenance regulation against which every organisation maintaining aircraft registered in the
European Union, must be approved, EASA Part 145 is implemented all over the world. The Regulation
itself requires that the staff who is involved in Part 145 activities have an appropriate knowledge of
the EASA Part 145 regulation.

This ePITsolutions eLearning module is dedicated to the EASA Part 145 and aims to provide the
appropriate training to all staff who have to understand Part 145 and prove they have gone through
the appropriate training. It includes the EASA Part 145 itself, the AMCs and the GMs. It is built as a
modular training, which means that someone who wants to know only about the EASA Part 145 can
move from one paragraph to the other. Someone who wants to train on the Part 145 and its AMC
and GM can play the animation on the EASA Part 145 paragraph and the corresponding AMC and
GM. Similarly, staff working within a maintenance organisation that look after components only may
skip the paragraphs that are applicable by maintenance organisations that look after aircraft.

Methods and evaluation tools

The eTutorial is composed of 4 parts to enable easier access:

  • Part 1 deals with general introduction, and up to Part 145A 25
  • Part 2 deals with Part 145A30, 35 and 36,
  • Part 3 deals with Part 145A40 to Part 145A55,
  • Part 4 deals with Part 145A60 to the end of Part 145.

Each paragraph is explained through animations that accompany the audio. The audio is the
recording of the reading of the regulatory text, so that there is no distortion on the exact wording of
the regulation. Our animations are built so that every requirement can be easily understood, with a
dynamic and clear representation.

Each of the parts includes exercises that enable to maintain the trainee’s attention and to assess
knowledge as the module progresses. These exercises are not rated.

The ePractice is composed of 2 parts :

  • The first part is applicable for all EASA Part 145 approved maintenance organisation and is
    composed of 40 quiz
  • The second part is applicable for the EASA Part 145 approved maintenance organisations that
maintain aircraft. It is composed of 15 quiz.

The ePractice questions enable to assess the trainee’s knowledge on the whole regulation. The
results of each part of the ePractice are recorded separately in order to get the final success rate. If
the final success rate is not at the expected level, the trainee can replay the ePractice.
